We have attended Nakama for various classes and summer camps, and my kids always have a great time!! The owner is always there welcoming people with a smile, and the teachers have all been wonderful. We just recently did a Harry Potter Camp and my daughter already asked if I could sign her up for it again. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Attended the Mushroom Light Workshop today and it was beyond amazing. Julie is such a creative and kindred spirit, and her passion makes Nakama so special! The light I made from scratch today is beautiful and I couldn’t thank her enough. I will definitely be returning. ❤️

Fun,casual environment. Lots of different, very affordable classes for kids and adults, some events are even free. If you want to learn something new in a calm, no-stress atmosphere, you gotta give this place a try. And you get to support a local, small business.

Get to Know Us
Nakama means “a friend who is like family” in Japanese—an idea for which there is no direct English equivalent. The name was chosen to reflect Nakama Studio’s mission: to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where members of the community can learn, grow, connect, and build meaningful friendships.
Julie, the owner of Nakama Studio, has been creating jewelry for more than 15 years and has extensive experience teaching jewelry-making. She also operated her own home-based business for over a decade. When her husband purchased a building for his company, Anderson Gutter Company, Julie saw an opportunity to use the additional space to expand her passion. In September 2021, she opened Nakama Studio with the goal of offering classes, collaborating with local small business owners to share their expertise through workshops, hosting private events, and more.
As a small business owner herself, Julie is committed to supporting other local entrepreneurs whenever possible.
In addition, Julie is a homeschooling mother of three. She enjoys offering a variety of educational classes and hosting a homeschool co-op to provide supplemental learning opportunities for other families in the community.
