Homesteading Skill Workshop

We have attended Nakama for various classes and summer camps, and my kids always have a great time!! The owner is always there welcoming people with a smile, and the teachers have all been wonderful. We just recently did a Harry Potter Camp and my daughter already asked if I could sign her up for it again. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Attended the Mushroom Light Workshop today and it was beyond amazing. Julie is such a creative and kindred spirit, and her passion makes Nakama so special! The light I made from scratch today is beautiful and I couldn’t thank her enough. I will definitely be returning. ❤️

Fun,casual environment. Lots of different, very affordable classes for kids and adults, some events are even free. If you want to learn something new in a calm, no-stress atmosphere, you gotta give this place a try. And you get to support a local, small business.

Our
Story

Get to Know Us

Nakama means "friend that's like family" in Japanese and there isn't an English word with that meaning. The name was chosen because the mission of Nakama Studio is to provide a safe space for people in the community to learn and grow together, meet others in the community and build friendships.

Julie, the owner, has been making jewelry for 15+ years, has taught jewelry making for years and ran her own business out of her home for 10+ years. Her husband purchased a building for his business, Anderson Gutter Company, and Julie decided to utilize the additional space by opening the Nakama Studio in September of 2021, with the intention of teaching classes, bringing in other local small business owners to share their expertise with the community by leading classes and workshops, hosting parties and more.

As a small business owner, Julie has the desire to support other local small business owners by consigning local handmade items, hosting networking events, handmade markets and collaborating with other small business owners as much as possible.

Julie is a homeschooling mom of 3, so also likes to host a variety of educational classes for other homeschooling families to supplement their learning.
